Martam Village Homestay is nestled among the ancient hills and a Bhutia hamlet in Gankha, Martam with vistas that inject a sense of peace and calm, and serenity that cures a traveller’s exhaustion. This is a retreat for city-dwellers or solitude seekers, bird lovers or cultural enthusiasts, poets and artists, or someone looking for yoga and meditation amid bird songs. Martam will mesmerise you with open green/golden rice fields that blend with the forest and people speaking different dialects, each having stories to share and learn from. Along with the fresh mountain air, you will also get to savour rice and vegetables grown in our own homestay farms or seasonal produce foraged from the forest.
Come, soak up the hamlet’s natural and cultural splendour and indulge in a variety of activities.

The place is clean and hygienic with hardly any speck of dirt. The room which I stayed had a huge window and a balcony with an amazing view. Would definitely recommend this place for meditation, reading/writing a book in such a peaceful ambience. Everyone has a positive and friendly attitude. The food is great and healthy – prepared with organic vegetables grown in Martam itself, cooked and served with love. I haven’t even left yet, but I am planning to come back again for sure.

Martam Village Homestay has been the best stay so far in Sikkim. We reached Martam after Gangtok, Lachen and Lachung. The rooms are super comfortable and cosy. The views of the hills is spectacular from the room. The bathrooms are very clean. The host cooked us local Sikkimese dinner that was healthy and tasty. We strongly recommend staying here, and making Martam a part of your itinerary.

The rooms are so good. It has a beautiful balcony where one can enjoy the sunrise and the property is surrounded by trees and large fields which makes the whole place so serene. Hospitality is so good, and the food very delicious. This kind of hospitality needs one more visit.

Six of us were here for a workshop and were a little worried about the venue. However, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The place is quiet and serene and offers a pleasant and peaceful experience. The staff was very cooperative, courteous and the hospitality admirable. We really enjoyed our stay here and I must re-emphasise that all the staff went out of the way to make us feel at home.
